🪑 Getting Started in Western Upholstery: The Bench Project
Think upholstery is too complicated? It’s not- and this course will prove it.
Inside Getting Started in Western Upholstery, you’ll learn how to build your own Western-style bench from scratch using simple steps, minimal tools, and easy-to-follow videos.Â
Â
This course was designed for beginners who want to start, but feel overwhelmed by all the “where do I even begin?” questions.
I’ll walk you through every step — no fancy equipment or prior experience required.
By the end of this course, you’ll not only have a gorgeous Western bench - you’ll have the confidence and know-how to keep creating.
No big shop. No confusing jargon. No fear.
Just you, your tools, and a new skill you can be proud of.
Because when that western-style bench is finished and someone asks,
“Where did you get that?”
You’ll smile and say,
“I made it.”
🎥 Bite-Sized Lessons You Can Learn at Your Own Pace
Inside the Getting Started in Western Upholstery course, you’ll get access to a series of short, easy-to-follow video lessons that guide you step-by-step through the tools and supplies you'll need to get started and a full step-by-step tutorial for the Western Bench Project - from building your frame to adding the finishing touches.
You’ll start with the basics: learning tools, materials, and foam- and end with a complete bench you built yourself.
No rushing. No overwhelm. Just simple, bite-sized lessons you can watch and rewatch anytime as you learn at your own pace.
Whether you choose to upholster your bench in leather, fabric, hair on hide, or even vinyl, the steps are the same.
And, you can choose your own leg styles and preferred finishes (fringe or no fringe, welting or no welting, decorative nails or no nails). Plus, you can completely customize the size to fit your space; whether you make it 24 inches long, 48 inches long, or somewhere in between.

SEE PRICINGHI - I'M SIERRA!
I’m an upholsterer, educator, and lover of good horses, fine fabrics, and all things western.
I built this business from the ground up with nothing but a staple gun, a wild vision, and a deep love for restoring old furniture with a Western soul. What started as a way to create pieces that felt like home has grown into a movement teaching others how to build real skills, express themselves through design, and make a living doing something they love.
Whether I’m tying coil springs on a century-old frame or leading live Zoom meetings inside our online membership, my mission is simple: to keep this trade alive and accessible with quality, creativity, and a little cowgirl grit.
